Privacy Policy

What Pulse Mate collects about you, why it is needed, who it is shared with, how long it is kept and how to have it deleted.

Last updated: 3 October 2026

1. Scope

This policy covers the personal data Pulse Mate handles when you visit the site, hold an account, build companions and talk to them. It applies to everything on this site and sits alongside our Terms of Service.

2. What we collect

Account details: your email address, your username, your password stored only as a secure hash, and whether your email has been verified. Profile details: your preferred name, your name where you give it, your date of birth, and the identification you choose during the profile step, which you may skip. Companion definitions: the name, identity, world setting, connection intention, backstory, personality traits, interests, appearance settings and chat style you give each companion. Conversations: the messages you send, the replies generated for you, the inner thoughts and relationship level derived from them, and notifications raised for you. Images: portraits generated for a companion and any reference photograph you upload. Technical data: a session token stored in your browser, plus the ordinary request and error logs a web service keeps to stay online and secure.

3. Why we use it

To create and secure your account and verify your email address; to check that you meet the minimum age; to match companions against your questionnaire and trait answers; to generate backstories, portraits and replies that fit the companion you defined; to keep the conversation continuous so a companion remembers what you have already said; to send you notifications about your companions; to investigate abuse and keep the service safe; and to diagnose faults and improve how the site works.

4. AI processing

Generating a reply, a backstory, an inner thought or a portrait means sending the relevant material to an AI model. That can include your companion definition, the recent conversation, the appearance settings or prompt you wrote, and any reference photograph you uploaded. Please do not put anything into a conversation that you would not want processed this way, such as passwords, payment details, official identifiers, or private information belonging to someone else.

5. Cookies and local storage

We use browser storage for the things the site cannot work without: keeping you signed in between pages, remembering small interface preferences such as whether a panel is folded, holding an in-progress companion while you move through the wizard, and remembering your cookie choice. These are always on. We also use Google Analytics, which sets cookies (such as _ga) to count visits and show us which pages are used. To decide whether we must ask first, our hosting provider, Vercel, works out your country from the IP address your browser already connects from; your address is not sent to anyone else for this, and only the country is passed to the page. In the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, or wherever your country cannot be determined, Google Analytics is not loaded at all until you accept it in the cookie banner, so nothing is sent to Google while you have not answered or if you reject it. Elsewhere, analytics is on by default. You can change your choice at any time from Cookie settings in the site footer; rejecting switches analytics off straight away and removes its cookies from this browser. Your choice is kept in this browser only. The sign-in, sign-up and password reset forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person rather than an automated script is using them. It is part of keeping accounts secure, so it runs without asking, but only on those forms: Cloudflare receives your IP address and technical details about your browser and device for the check, and its script is not loaded anywhere else on the site. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not track you across other sites.

6. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the providers who make the service run, such as hosting and country lookup (Vercel), bot protection on our account forms (Cloudflare), storage, email delivery, analytics (Google) and the AI providers described above, and only as far as their part of the service requires. We may also disclose data where the law requires it, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of our members and of Pulse Mate.

7. Retention and deletion

Account, profile and companion data is kept while your account is open. Deleting a companion in the creator removes its personality, appearance, portraits and memories; the chat transcript is retained for auditing and abuse investigation. Deleting your account from account settings is permanent and removes your profile, your companions and your conversations, other than anything we must keep to meet a legal obligation or to resolve a dispute. Backups and logs age out on their own ordinary schedule.

8. Security

Passwords are stored only as hashes, sessions are tied to a token that can be revoked, and you can sign out every other device from account settings. Deleting an account requires both your password and a typed confirmation, so it cannot happen by accident. No online service can promise perfect security, so please use a unique password and keep it to yourself.

9. Children

Pulse Mate is for adults and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it and delete the data held under it.

10. Your rights

You can see and correct your account details and profile answers from profile settings and account settings, change your email address or password there, edit or delete any companion, remove generated portraits, and delete your entire account. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to a copy of your data, to restrict or object to certain processing, or to complain to your local data protection authority. Contact us and we will help.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product changes. The date at the top of this page shows when the current version was published, and material changes will be signalled in the site before they take effect.

12. Contact

Questions about this policy, or a request about your own data, can be sent to us from the help link in your account settings.
